Description:

Biocon Biologics Limited is inviting passionate and detail-oriented professionals to join their R&D-Process Sciences (Drug Substance) team as a Scientist. This role focuses on the development and optimization of protein purification processes, with a particular emphasis on chromatography and filtration techniques.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in protein chemistry, statistical design of experiments (DoE), and data analysis. You’ll work on planning and executing experiments, preparing regulatory documentation, and handling AKTA systems (Explorer, Avant, Pure) for purification processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review technical and regulatory documents for submission.
• Plan, design, and execute DoE-based experiments for process development, purification, and characterization.
• Conduct scale-down studies, deviation investigations, and variant isolation experiments when required.
• Perform data compilation, trending, and statistical analysis to evaluate experimental results.
• Operate, program, and troubleshoot AKTA systems (Explorer, Avant, Pure) and ultrafiltration/filtration assemblies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization in the lab.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in process quality and efficiency.

Requirements:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related life science fields.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience in protein purification or bioprocess development.
• Strong foundation in chromatography theory and protein chemistry.
• Proficiency in statistical and data analysis tools (DoE, data trending).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Hands-on experience with AKTA systems preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple experiments efficiently.
